Position Summary Trout Unlimited is seeking a Web Developer responsible for building, improving and managing multiple web properties. We are looking for someone to help us improve our overall web presence, to assist in the creation and maintenance of a new fishing lifestyle web property, and who is as passionate about web development as s/he is about fishing. Day to day, the position will be involved in improving Trout Unlimited's existing web content and tools. S/he will help create new content and fishing-centric functionality while working with a tight-knit team including some of the finest writers and photographers in the outdoor industry. If you are not quite full-stack (or a bit more than just front-end)–and have a passion for building compelling web content–this position would be a great fit. There is a strong preference that the position be located and performed from Trout Unlimited's Arlington, Virginia office. Duties and Responsibilities Building, improving, and managing multiple web properties using Wordpress and Drupal 7 Building a library of reusable code and accompanying documentation Ensuring the visual consistency of Trout Unlimited's web properties Collaborating with Trout Unlimited's wide range of departments to develop compelling and engaging web content Planning and executing projects of varying scope Managing and completing incoming web development and site change requests Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field. Proven experience in web development as well as experience working and thriving in a fast-paced quickly changing environment. Ability to write clean, semantic HTML5, CSS3 and jQuery Familiarity with CSS preprocessors such as SASS or LESS Basic image editing and web preparation skills, Adobe suite familiarity is a plus Strong understanding of SEO best practices Working knowledge of Git Strong Wordpress experience Working knowledge of Drupal 7 site building, views and contexts Comfortable with front-end frameworks such as Foundation or Bootstrap Experience with RESTful services and APIs Basic understanding of PHP Strong verbal and written communication skills Detail-oriented and self-motivated Capable of planning, organizing and completing multiple concurrent projects Ability to work on multiple complex tasks with firm deadlines Passion for the outdoors and Trout Unlimited's mission is essential, fly fishing is a plus How to Apply Please send a letter of interest, resume and 3 professional references to Vivie Yen at email@example.com.
