How can I start a TU chapter? How can I revitalize an existing one?

Creating a New Chapter

If you don’t have a TU chapter in your area, the basic requirements for starting a new chapter are:

  • At least 12 members
  • A chapter name
  • A set of chapter By-Laws
  • Chapter Officers A board of directors (6 members). Chapter officers and directors should be elected with care and concern for each individual’s commitment and dedication to the purpose and objectives of TU.

The first several months are critical to the chapter’s success.  Initial activities will center around establishing communications with new members and developing plans and programs. A new chapter is encouraged to hold a fundraising event within the first 18 months of receiving its charter.

Adequate communications and solid membership programs are essential for the new chapter to grow and prosper.
