Trout Unlimited is seeking three biological technicians for the 2009 summer field season. Successful applicants will work in portions of Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming assisting the Bear River Native Trout Program and the Utah Water Project.

The Bear River Native Trout Program strives to conserve Bonneville Cutthroat Trout populations in the Bear River Drainage by implementing fish passage and habitat improvement projects. The Utah Water Project works cooperatively with land owners and agricultural producers to improve in-stream flows for native trout populations across the state of Utah.

The intern's primary tasks will include fish trapping and tagging at multiple locations, conducting fish migration barrier inventories, maintaining fish screens, and conducting fish population assessments using electrofishing techniques.

Applicants should have a background in biology/ecology and enjoy working outdoors. Previous field work is strongly desired but not required.

The field season extends from April 15 through late September. Qualified applicants that are available for larger portions of this period will be given preference.

Internships will pay $1,500.00 per month, housing provided.
