Trout Unlimited is seeking a law student (2L), to participate next summer (2009) in its Idaho Water Project. The office location will be in Boise, Idaho's capital city.

The Idaho Water Project is part of Trout Unlimited's Western Water Project. Trout Unlimited started the Western Water Project in 1998 with a commitment to working at the state level to gain a voice for coldwater resources in the West. The Idaho Water Project works to achieve its goals both through on-the-ground stream reconnection projects and state-level water law and policy advocacy.

The intern's primary task will include researching and co-authoring a law review article suitable for law review submission regarding Idaho's water right forfeiture doctrine. Other tasks will include assistance in researching and preparing comments to proposed revisions to Idaho's State Water Plan; research regarding the development of water markets in Idaho; and assistance in numerous legal challenges to site-specific developments/rulings affecting stream flows in the State.

Strong interest in water rights law is required.

The internship will pay a $1,500.00 per month stipend.
