Current Positions Available at TU:

  • Upper Salmon River Basin
    Trout Unlimited seeks a project specialist to plan and implement on-the-ground projects that preserve and improve salmon, steelhead and trout habitat in the Upper Salmon Basin. Projects will include removal of fish barriers, irrigation improvements, water rights transactions, channel and riparian rehabilitation and other cooperative activities that protect or restore fish habitat. Project work in the Yankee Fork will be an initial priority.
  • Elkins, West Virginia
    Trout Unlimited, working with the Monongahela National Forest, will be filling a total of three temporary positions to perform field duties as part of the Monongahela National Forest's watershed program during the 2013 summer season. The positions will be paid a stipend according to qualifications and education. The positions will be based out of the Forest Supervisor's Office in Elkins, West Virginia.
  • Berkeley, California
    TU is seeking a qualified individual with experience in water policy and water rights permitting for its successful California Water Program. The individual will join our Water Program Stewardship Manager and other TU staff working on streamflow restoration in California. A particular focus will be projects with farmers, ranchers, and homeowners to improve instream flow and water system reliability.
  • Arlington, Virginia
    This is an exciting opportunity to join Trout Unlimited preferably in their headquarters in Arlington, Virginia - as the Vice President of Marketing & Communications. The VP of Marketing & Communications will report directly to the CEO and is member of the Senior Staff. The VP of Marketing & Communications will be responsible for the execution of Trout Unlimited's communications, marketing and branding strategies. The VP of Marketing & Communications will oversee all activities that promote, enhance, and protect the organization's brand reputation and identify communication goals. A key objective is to manage the development and production of Trout's varied and integrated communications activities and tools including: supporting all events and initiatives, direct mail and marketing, newsletters and other print publications; Website content, E-news and other online communications, social and conventional media and public relations, and marketing.
  • Lock Haven, Pennsylvania
    TU's Eastern Abandoned Mine Program (EAMP) is seeking a biological field technician intern to assist with efforts to restore coldwater ecosystems from abandoned mine drainage. This is a full-time position beginning in mid-May and running until August 2013. Start and end dates for this position are negotiable. The position will be based out of the Pennsylvania field office of TU, located in Lock Haven, PA. TU's EAMP works throughout Pennsylvania and the majority of work will occur within the West Branch Susquehanna River watershed.
  • Arlington, Virginia
    This is an exciting opportunity to join Trout Unlimited in their headquarters in Arlington, Virginia - as the Vice President of Development. The VP of Development will report directly to the CEO and is member of the Senior Staff. The job entails charting a course for continued development as well as expanded development of TU's revenue initiatives. A key objective is to implement TU's development plan, and more specifically, its major individual donor program.
  • West Coast Region
    TU has a long history of conservation success on the West Coast, and has a significant staff and grassroots presence across the region. The CCF Manager, West Coast will be responsible for expanding TU's CCF presence along the length of the West Coast and in the Pacific Northwest in general, with particular emphasis on close work with TU program staff and the grassroots. The position reports to the Managing Director, CCF. Job location is flexible, but will preferably be in a major West Coast population center (Seattle, Portland, San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles).
  • Mid-Atlantic Region
    TU has a long history of conservation success in the eastern and Midwestern United States, and has a significant staff and grassroots presence across the region. The CCF Manager, Eastern Region will be responsible for expanding TU's CCF presence throughout the eastern and Midwestern United States, with particular emphasis on the mid-Atlantic states and through close work with TU program staff and the grassroots. The position reports to the Managing Director, CCF. Job location is flexible, but will preferably be in the mid-Atlantic region.
  • Southwest Oregon
    We are seeking an organizer in southwest Oregon to join the SCP, a TU program with approximately 25 staff members located throughout the West. The organizer will work with sportsmen and women, public land managers, stakeholders and decision-makers to protect and restore high-quality steelhead, salmon and trout habitat on public land in a manner supported by local communities.
  • Arlington, Virginia
    Trout Unlimited is seeking a highly organized individual with strong attention to detail to fill this full-time, entry-level position. The Production Assistant will work to ensure accurate and timely implementation of TU's direct mail and online fundraising efforts. This job offers the opportunity to learn or build on an existing base of direct marketing and/or fundraising experience while supporting an organization with a great mission.
  • Reno, Nevada
    TU's Project Managers hold unique and diverse positions. The shortest description of the job is to "make things happen." In that spirit, TU is hiring a self-motivated and highly capable person to identify, plan, and implement abandoned mine restoration projects to benefit aquatic resources and native trout in Nevada. The Project Manager will be responsible for all aspects of abandoned mine restoration projects in Nevada, but will work closely with TU's mine restoration staff across the West. A significant focus will be placed upon partnership building with TU chapters and grassroots leaders, land trusts, state and federal agencies, landowners, local watershed groups, and other non-profit organizations. The successful applicant will be expected to seek out and obtain grant funding to support project work and core operational costs. The Project Manager will be co-located with other TU staff in Reno, NV, and will be required to travel to California and other western states.
