Trout Unlimited (TU) is North America’s leading coldwater fisheries conservation organization, dedicated to the conservation, protection and restoration of trout and salmon fisheries and their watersheds. The organization has more than 140,000 members in 400 chapters across North America. TU’s vision is that, by the next generation, trout and salmon will be restored throughout their native range. To accomplish this vision, TU works to protect intact habitat, restore degraded habitat, and reconnect the two through restoration of instream flows and removal of barriers. Finally, TU seeks to sustain its achievements through outreach and youth education.
Part-time spring or fall semester or full-time summer law clerkships are available to law students with Trout Unlimited's California Water Project in Berkeley, CA. TU's California Water Project works to reform state water law, maintain and restore stream flows for healthy coldwater fisheries, and increase meaningful public participation in decisions regarding water allocation. The law clerk will provide assistance to TU attorneys on state water law or stream flow matters, cooperative projects with water users, litigation, or hydropower relicensing.
