Are Those Banjos I Hear? 2014 Southeast Regional TU Meeting

Why, yes they are! It’s the Foxfire Boys and they’ll be picking and fiddling bluegrass music at the closing BBQ dinner hosted by the Georgia Council. Regional meetings are a great way to join fellow anglers from across the Southeast, make new friends, renew old friendships, get in some fishing and learn about how TU is making fishing better for you! This year’s Southeast Regional Meeting for GA, NC, SC, TN, VA and WV will be in the North Georgia Mountains at the Dillard House in Dillard, GA on March 29th.

Friday’s optional events begin with a half day women’s seminar designed to arm volunteer leaders with tools to help grow and maintain women's membership and encourage the women in TU to become leaders within our organization. That evening we’ll meet at 7 pm for dinner at the Cupboard Café.  Saturday kicks off with breakfast and networking at 7 am and is followed by a day full of discussions and workshops. On deck from TU National will be:

  • Bryan Moore, VP for Volunteer Operations
  • Hillary Coley, Chief Financial and Administrative Officer
  • Keith Curley, Director of Government Affairs
  • Beverly Smith, Director of Volunteer Operations
  • Franklin Tate, Director of Youth Education
  • Rob Keith, Volunteer Operations Coordinator
  • Damon Hearne, Southeast Conservation Coordinator
  • Kurt Fesenmyer, TU’s Science GIS Specialist
  • Doug Agee, Technical Customer Support Specialist
  • Alan Folger, Veterans Services Program Coordinator

Local fishing is available Friday and Sunday. Discounted lodging has been arranged at the meeting site with the Dillard House. We wrap it all up with BBQ and Foxfire Boys bluegrass music!
