Duane Watson honored by Catskill Fly Fishing Museum

Duane Watson, long time GBTU member, was honored with the installation of a plaque in his memory in the workshop of the Catskill Fly Fishing Museum.  He had an interest in fishing bamboo fly rods.  A number of the donated rods were from the historical makers in the Catskill region.

Having lived close by to the museum, Duane was a frequent visitor to the museum in its early years and met many of the fly tying legends and rod makers.

Last year, he registered to attend the annual Catskill Rod Gathering  shortly before his untimely passing.  Duane was looking forward to making this trip on an interest  he was passionate about.

Now his spirit looks down on the workshop viewing all of the bamboo rods being shown and constructed.
