Interesting New Zealand Mudsnail Research at U of Iowa

New Zealand Mudsnails seem to be making a run across the US showing up in Spring Creek in PA, the lower Chehalis in WA, a tributary of the Truckee in NV, and in Black Earth Creek in WI.  Following is a link to an interesting article regarding NZMS research being conducted at the University of Iowa.  While the research findings are not conclusive, it appears that NZMS may actually limit their own reproduction to protect populations.  I don't believe this means they'll control themselves out of existence, but it may mean that there are "self imposed" limitations to NZMS population growth.  Here's the link...
