The IFTD and the International Convention of Allied Sportfishing Trade show are occupying the same convention hall for the next to last time this year. Both shows will be back in Orlando next year, and then, as Deeter puts it, the IFTD “comes home” to Denver in 2019. While having the two shows together has likely created some new partnerships, Deeter says most folks are excited about the IFTD-only trade show in Denver in a couple of years, because the fly fishing industry is maturing and become better equipped to stand alone when it comes to its hallmark annual event.
