For the third year in a row, TU is hosting bloggers and writers on its annual blogger tour--this year's big adventure is scheduled to take place in Southeast Alaska's Tongass National Forest, where visiting writers will have the chance to fly fish the rainforest for pink salmon, Dolly Varden, sea-run cutthroat trout and rainbow trout.
All outdoor bloggers are invited to enter the essay contest (see link below), which ends at midnight May 22. Two winners will be announced May 24. Winning bloggers will need to be able to get to Juneau, Alaska, by July 15. The tour concludes July 21. TU and our sponsors--Fishpond, RIO Products and Tenkara USA--will handle expenses upon arrival for winning bloggers.
Bloggers entering the contest need only craft an essay on why this 17-million-acre temperate rainforest is considered America’s Salmon Forest and why protecting its prime but threatened salmon and trout habitat is vital to the regional economy, local culture and the nation’s sporting heritage.
Then, click on the link below and post the exact URL. Links to all entered blog posts will appear here on the TU website, and at the Outdoor Blogger Network page, and on the pages of our sponsors.
Two winning bloggers will receive the trip to Alaska and some gear from Fishpond, RIO Products and Tenkara USA. Runners up will receive TU memberships and gear from our sponsors. Exact prizes will be announced in the near future.
