TU License Plate

Dear Wisconsin TU Member or Friend:

Wisconsin Trout Unlimited has a pending license plate bill in the Wisconsin Legislature.

If passed, this bill would allow TU to have a specialized license plate, with proceeds coming to the Wisconsin Council of Trout Unlimited.

Other than simply looking excellent, the plates would constitute a continual, large scale funding source for Wisconsin TU, so that our council’s time could be best spent on our mission rather than fundraising. In short, this might be the biggest thing to hit Wisconsin TU in the last 10 years, and we only get one shot at this. Let’s make this count.

A hearing is set for Tuesday, September 24, 2013, at 12:00 NOON at the State Capitol, in Madison, Wisconsin.

The meeting is in Room 417 North. This is a large room, and it is absolutely imperative that we pack this room full with TU members. We need at least 50 people at this meeting!

If you do one thing for Wisconsin Trout Unlimited this year, please make showing up to this meeting be it.

I realize this is short notice, but that is the way this hearing presented itself. If you can spare a day, please make the trip and help this bill pass.

Please e-mail Henry Koltz at hek@sdelaw.com to RSVP, or with questions. If you would like to call, please call him at 414-331-5679.

Very truly yours,

Henry E. Koltz

Last Tuesday’s hearing at Madison on Wisconsin’s TU license plate bill went great. We had over 40 people turn out, and I can’t thank those went above and beyond for Wisconsin TU enough. THANK YOU.

It’s time to take the next step.

We need our bill to be voted on by the Transportation Committee, and sent out for a general vote.

PLEASE CONTACT YOUR LEGISLATORS FROM THE TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE, AND ASK THEM TO “EXEC AB 173” AND VOTE IT OUT TO THE FLOOR!

It’s very important that we have in-district members contact their legislators.

And it’s simple: Just call or e-mail (or both!) the committee members, and ask them to bring AB 173 up for an executive vote, and to send it on to the floor for a general hearing/vote.

The members of the Assembly Transportation Committee are:

Rep. Ripp (chair) – Lodi – 608-266-3404 - Rep.Ripp@legis.wisconsin.gov
