Video spotlight: Saved by Axe

The horrors of war hit those who fight them hardest. And they don’t just get left behind on the battlefield. They haunt our veterans every day.

Fly fisher Chad Brown is a decorated Navy veteran who suffers from PTSD every single day. He served in Iraq and Somalia, and while those places are half a world away, the impacts of his service are constantly with him.

The video above shows how service dogs truly have a therapeutic effect on people like Chad. Chad’s dog, Axe, has helped him deal with the stress of PTSD, overcome night terrors, rein in his anxiety and generally calm down when stress induces his PTSD. For people like Chad, life is better with a dog it in.

Come to think of it, isn’t that true for all of us?
