Wounded Warriors Go Fishing in Montana

I had the honor to lead a group of 7 wounded warriors from the Bozeman based Warriors and Quiet Waters Foundation on a day fishing trip to a beautiful tributary of the upper Missouri River.  The weather was challenging (it was snowing....), but dressed up in some great Simms fishing gear, we enjoyed some excellent fishing.  It was a memorable trip.  Thank you to all Vets for their service to our country.  Your service and sacrifice protect the opportunity to enjoy the freedoms that we often take for granted, and allow us to pursue wild trout in cold, clean water.  Thanks, too, to all the volunteer companions and guides who helped make the trip a success.

I should have add that all of the wounded warrior participants received complimentary TU memberships courtesy of TU's Veterans Service Partnership!!!!

That sounds like a great project. I'm glad we can give them free memberships. Thanks for your hard work, Dave.

It was a very successful day.  In fact, since we had such poor weather, the owners of the ranch we fished on generously offered the opportunity to come back two days later and fish the creek again, and 4 of the wounded warriors and their guides went back.  The weather was MUCH nicer, and the fishing even better!  It was a great experience for everyone. Our hope is that we'll create some serious anglers and "conservation warriors" who get involved in TU!
