Cimarron River

Tip of the week

Flows out of Eagle Nest are still low while flows down in town are up due to some runoff. Don't let the runoff fool you, the fish are still active and because of the murky conditions they are less spooky. The best fishing has been below Clear Creek. Best time is mid morning through the afternoon. Fish dry-droppers in the deeper runs and pools.

Seven-day forecast

The Cimarron historically handles runoff and fishes during runoff while other waters can be blown out. This murkiness can be good as the fish are less spooky. These conditions should continue for about a week or so. The Cimarron should continue to fish ok to good over the next week or so and as the calendar turns to May the fishing should pick up.
