Cimarron River

Tip of the week

Flows are up from recent snow and continuing rain. The lower half of the Cimarron in the State Park definitely has more water that ranges from slight to medium turbidity. The past week the fishing is ranged from ok to great, averaging out to good. The upper half is lower water with slight to medium turbidity. Fish the edges with dries or dry-droppers. In the deeper pools might need to double nymph.

Seven-day forecast

I expect water conditions to stay about the same in the next week or so. Some of that will depend on the rain, if we get another downpour water will probably become moderately turbid. We normally start seeing a few stoneflies around Memorial Day weekend.
