Cimarron River

Tip of the week
Techniques

Flows are up a little out of Eagle Nest. Fish are spreading out, active and looking up for dries and mergers. Best time is morning, if there is clouds in the afternoon then afternoon is good too. Fish dries and smaller mergers or light weight nymphs in the riffles, along the banks and deeper pools. In the deeper pools might need to had a small bead head nymph.

Seven-day forecast

The last few days have been seeing steady dry fly fishing to actively rising fish throughout the morning. We should start seeing a little more water soon and some cloudy afternoons which will should keep the fishing from good to excellent. June is a great time on the Cimarron with the multiple hatches we're seeing right now. In a couple weeks should start seeing some Tricos and Caddis.
