Colorado River - Upper Colorado, Pumphouse to Grandy

Tip of the week
Techniques

Runoff has officially started, which means big bright lead flies. Nymphing has been the ticket in black, olive, brown and rust colors as tailing have been producing good sized fish. Pat's rubbers legs, san juan worms and flashy stones as a lead fly for a nymph rig has been doing really well. Midges, BWO, caddis, Rs2's as your trailer fly can still produce feeding fish.

Seven-day forecast

Sunny and mid to high 80's for the Upper Colorado area this week. Runoff flows will be increasing with this warm weather and watch out for river levels to rise as the day goes on. Don't forget sunscreen!
