We've had a good water year on the Housatonic River and the fishing, both for Smallmouth and Trout, is very good. Mid-day seems good for Smallies. Fished from 4 p.m.- dark. Sulphurs came off sproadically until about 8 at which point things started to heat up. Had good luck on small Olive and Yellow flies (#18 #20) as well as beetles and a pheasant tail dropper. Fished 7x and had a bunch of break offs. Better luck on 6x.
The Candlewood Valley chapter has worked for over a decade to improve water quality and trout habitat on Deep Brook in Newtown, Connecticut.
