Next week, the Trout Management Program will be fin clipping approximately 20,000 cutthroat trout and 20,000 brown trout for the White and Norfork Rivers. It is a great opportunity for folks to get to talk with AGFC personnel face to face and to hear about our upcoming projects and what we want to accomplish by marking all of these fish. For example, one reason we want to mark the cutthroat trout being stocked in Norfork is to help us distinguish between stocked cutthroat trout and egg-box planted cutthroat trout that may have survived to contribute to the fishery.
We will be working at the Norfork Federal Fish Hatchery Tuesday 8/12 to Friday 8/16. We are in need of some volunteers to help each day from 8:30 a.m.-2:30p.m.. If you are interested in helping us, please send me an e-mail and let me know which days you would be able to help. Any time you all can spare will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks a bunch!
