2013 TU Southeast Regional Meeting

Join fellow anglers and TU volunteer leaders from across the Southeast in Glade Springs, W.Va. on March 23, 2013.

Who should attend? Anyone committed to building effective TU chapters and councils.

What will you learn? Opportunities abound to develop your governance skills and practices, discover solutions to your leadership challenges, and increase your understanding of the key trends and coldwater conservation issues impacting that particular region. TU regional meetings are occasions to be inspired — by the work of TU staff, lessons from leaders and conservations with newfound friends.

Registration and Cost? The total cost is $50 and includes:

  • Participation in all seminars and workshops on Saturday
  • Breakfast and lunch on Saturday
  • Barbecue dinner Saturday night *For those interested in only attending the barbecue, the cost is $25 and payable at the event.

Friday, March 22 - Optional Fishing Day
There are numerous trout streams within 30 minutes of the resort including fingerling brown trout stocked streams Dunloup Creek, Loop Creek, Piney Creek, Glade Creek and Arbuckle Creek. Native brook trout can be found in Buffalo Creek (fly fishing only regulations apply.) And wild rainbows are only 45 minutes away in the Guyandotte River watershed. If you are interested in receiving information from a local volunteer on fishing opportunities, be sure to check the box on the registration page.

Saturday, March 23 - Workshops and Seminars
The Southeast Regional Meeting is designed to provide TU volunteer leaders with valuable tools and skills you can bring home to help improve the effectiveness of councils and chapters. Saturday's full-day session will include group discussions, concentrated workshops and opportunities for council and chapter leaders to share successes and discuss common challenges.

Saturday, March 23 - Barbecue
Following the full day of meetings, we will gather on the grounds of the Glade Springs Resort for a casual, outdoor barbecue.

Glade Springs is located less than 30 minutes from the WV/VA border on I-77 and is an easy three hour drive from Charlotte, N.C. Accommodations for the Southeast Regional Meeting are provided by the Glade Springs Resort
