Sal font Chapter and partners with the USFS will be planting trees Saturday, April 19 to improve the native brook trout headwaters of the Greenbrier River. TU and USFS have partnered in a massive restoration project in the headwaters of the Greenbrier. One facet of this restoration is obliteration of unused roads in the watershed that negatively affect the natural hydrology. One of these roads along the Little River of the West Fork of the Greenbrier was recently obliterated and TU will assist USFS in planting trees along this road.
Volunteers may meet at the Greenbrier Ranger District Office in Bartow at 8:00 am or at the Trailhead for the Span Oak Trail near Little River of West Fork Greenbrier at around 9:00 am. If you arrive late, follow Span Oak Trail upstream till you find the crews and jump in to help!
