On May 8, 2014, TU is hosting its Annual Spring Dinner in New York City at the beautiful Central Park Boathouse. Each year this evening honors the contributions of conservationists, financial leaders and internationally-recognized figures including Robert Rubin, former Secretary of the Treasury and Mike Kowalski, CEO of Tiffany & Co., Ted Turner, and celebrates our shared passion for angling and conservation.
This year we will honor Oakleigh B. Thorne, III and Oakleigh B. Thorne, IV. The Thorne family is Trout Unlimited's conservation dynasty. Oakleigh, III helped to usher in the modern organization in the early 1990s, while Oakleigh, IV oversaw a tremendous period of growth as Board Chair in the mid 2000s. They are the only father and son pair who have both served on the executive team of the Board of Trustees.
We hope that you will join conservationists, anglers and philanthropists from the greater New York area to celebrate TU's work to protect fish habitat and your angling opportunities across North America. Thanks to you, we're able to conduct critical conservation work, do groundbreaking research on coldwater fisheries, and connect anglers with one another in local communities.
