Grande Ronde River

Tip of the week

Trout showed interest in stonefly nymphs as well as several medium to small nymph patterns. Likely hatches include BWOs, skwalas, and any other mayflies or caddis that might be hatching now. A small stonefly was the only hatch I saw yesterday.

Seven-day forecast

The Grande Ronde and Wallowa rivers in Oregon are open all year for trout now. Steelhead season is closed.
Recent warm weather has turned the trend on Northeast Oregon rivers. Water will continue to rise Wednesday, but Wedesday is cooler and if that trend continues then river levels will drop a bit, but don't count on low water until sometime in late June. The region received a substantial snowpack and there is still a lot of water to come out.

The Grande Ronde in Washington reopens June 3
