The "Fall Blitz" refers to one of the most impressive wildlife migrations on Earth; false albacore, striped bass and bluefish (not to mention sharks, whales and dolphins) moving past the eastern tip of Long Island by the thousands. For many anglers, it's a final adrenaline rush before the lull of winter. The four days of fishing is so intense that writer Peter Kaminsky has likened the chomping of stripers to the roar of a Roman stadium just before the kill. This remains one of our most popular trips, and for 2011 we have once again reserved the best guides on Long Island, all of whom know as much about the history and ecology of Montauk as they do about finding and catching fish. At the end of the day, we'll relax over gourmet dinners and fine spirits, before retiring to comfortable rooms at the Montauk Yacht Club.
