Bulkely & Morice Rivers, British Columbia, October 22-30, 2010

British Columbia’s Skeena River system boasts the largest steelhead in the world, and we’ll spend seven nights and six full days chasing them on the Bulkley and Morice rivers. The Frontier Farwest Lodge will serve as our base camp, welcoming us home with gourmet meals and a sauna after long days spent wading the Morice, one of the most beautiful rivers in the Skeena system. Frontier Farwest also maintains the only two overnight camps on the Bulkley River canyon, and for those who are interested, we’ll spend one or two days floating the river, fishing well into the night before retiring to our heated, raised-floor, wall-style tents. The Bulkley offers excellent steelhead fishing and wildlife viewing, but you could spend the whole time wading the Morice and not be disappointed by this extraordinary river. The trip also includes a briefing on the heated debate over how to manage and protect the Skeena fishery.
