Spruce Creek, Pennsylvania, April 26–29, 2010

Celebrate the arrival of spring with two full days and two half days on this legendary limestone creek near State College, Pa. We’ll have both houses on Wayne Harpster’s Evergreen Farm, and we’ll wake up every morning to big browns and rainbows waiting in the private water just out our back door. We’ll also have easy access to the deep pools and riffles of the Little Juniata, some of the best public water on the East Coast. Based on past experience, the trip will likely coincide with a spectacular caddis hatch, and we can expect to see a variety of mayfly species as well, so bring your favorite sulfurs and Hendricksons to take full advantage of the excellent dry fly fishing opportunities. In the evenings, we’ll relax over casual meals and fine spirits, replaying the day’s successes in this rural haven just a few hours’ drive from Washington, Baltimore and New York.
