Kennebec River Estuary

Tip of the week
Techniques

Watch for gulls and terns diving on bait. When the gulls move off watch your sounder, in many cases the striped bass go deep and are still willing to bite.

Seven-day forecast

Fishing should remain very good this week. Most of the stripers in the River are schoolies (12"-24") but there are a few larger ones around. We are averaging 20 fish per trip on fly and spinning gear right now.

Conditions

We are seeing some of the very best early June striped bass fishing in many years. Lots of surface blitzes on both the incoming and outgoing tides. Water temp is between 60* and 67* and water clarity is good.
