Charles Johnson, CCF Board Member
Note: Charles "Charlie" Johnson, of Newport Beach, California, is an avid fly fisherman and outdoorsman whose love of trout and the beautiful places in which they live has taken him all over the world. He has been a TU member for many years, and he currently serves on the CCF Board of Directors.
Charlie's generosity to TU has taken many forms over the course of his association with the organization, from membership dues to board service. His decision to include TU in his will is at once another expression of that generosity and an affirmation of his conviction that TU is an essential part of the future of North America's trout and salmon and their watersheds.
"Through my years of participation on the CCF Board, I have increasingly come to appreciate the zeal, enthusiasm, and professionalism of our TU Staff. What I most appreciate is the driving sense that TU is all about the fish. Unlike many other organizations, TU has remained focused on its principal mission, and remained apolitical. TU recognizes that we require the assistance and participation of all stratas of our society, hence the requirement that we stay out of political and broader environmental frays. In the late 60s I joined a large national environmental organization due to my passion for the outdoors, but left shortly due to their shift to a much broader social agenda than simply enhancing and preserving the outdoors for broad variety of users.

When my wife Kathy and I pass on, we have made provision for a major gift for TU, with the appreciation that the monies will be used in a focused and wise manner."
