Miami Area & Northern Biscayne Bay

Tip of the week
Techniques

The finger channels are producing keeper sized mutton and mangrove snappers. Use sinking lines with clousers or live shrimp on 3/8 oz jigs. We should see the big blue runners and bluefish move in with the next cold front.

Conditions

We are in the "between" season. Not cold enough to get the channels full of assorted species like mackerel, ladyfish, bluefish, etc. and not warm enough to put any permit or bones on the flats. Some of the mornings were cold and the flats were devoid of sharks and rays. Always a telltale. We do have our winter tarpon in Government Cut.
