Miami Area & Northern Biscayne Bay

Tip of the week
Techniques

Full sink lines with baitifsh patterns or artificials will work well in the channels if you are interested in some big yellow jacks or mutton snapper. Throw in some yellowtails here and there and you can fish for dinner if you are so inclined. Make sure you are getting to the bottom of the water column. The channels are typically 10' deep.

Conditions

Some warm weather has gotten things back to normal. The channels have finally blossomed with bluefish, ladyfish, and mackerel. Throw in some nice sized schools of jacks and blue runners and you can really go to town with topwater flies and plugs, Tarpon have been hard to find. Lot's of cuda's as the sun warms up the flats. In the downtown flats area you can catch a nice mix of sea trout and ladyfish on clousers or swim plugs,
