Cover the water column starting at the top for our "winter" fish. Surface action can be great. If you don't get a response go to mid depth and then finally dredge as deep as possible. Remember to give your spots some time as fish typically will move away with the sound of an outboard motor idling up to them. If the food is there they will return within 5-10 minutes. Not a bad idea to toss some pieces of shrimp out BEFORE you even make a cast. Let the spot settle and then start casting.
Winds are mostly east but will switch to the south-southwest as the weak cold front with accompanying showers approaches on Thursday. It should switch back to the east/NE on Friday.
High pressure offshore has kept our barometer steady and winds out of the east-southeast. This has brought the water temps up considerably inshore.
We've had mostly sunny skies which has been great for visibility on the flats.
Tarpon have been on the beach.
