Muskegon River

Tip of the week

Streamer fishing for bass and migratory pike has been very good lately. This will start to diminish as water temperatures cool. Afternoon dry fly fishing for trout is picking up. Nymphing the weeds with scuds and midge are putting up numbers of trout in the upper stretches below Croton dam.

We should see our first push of chinook salmon with the pashing of todays cold front and rain. Dig out your 9 and 10wt rods and gear up with big streamers. Once the upbound chinook pool up the two-handed game is back after a few month hiatus.
