President - Charles Gauvin
Charles--a leading expert on the Clean Water Act and other environmental legislation--is an attorney with extensive experience in environmental matters, principally water quality standards and permits under the federal Clean Water Act. Before becoming TU's Executive Director in 1991, Charles practiced law in the Washington office of Beveridge & Diamond, P.C., where he negotiated and litigated discharge permits and water quality standards issues on behalf of corporations, municipalities and environmental organizations. Charles is a 1978 graduate of Brown University and a 1985 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School. In addition to fly fishing, Charles enjoys upland bird hunting and gardening.

Chief Operating Officer - Chris Wood
Before coming to Trout Unlimited in September 2001, Chris Wood served as the senior policy and communications advisor to the Chief of the US Forest Service for four years. Chris began his career as a temporary employee with Forest Service Research in Idaho and also worked for the Bureau of Land Management and American Rivers, a river conservation group. An avid fly fisher, he is ecumenical about his fishing - known even to stalk the wily carp of Washington, DC.  

Vice President Program Development & Director, Coldwater Conservation Fund - Whit Fosburgh
Whit joined TU in 1995, bringing with him a wealth of fundraising and program-development experience. From 1992 to 1995, he served as fisheries director for the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, working closely with TU on several NFWF-funded initiatives, including TU's pioneering research on New York's legendary Beaverkill/Willowemoc watershed. Before that he was chief environment and energy staff person for Senator Tom Daschle (D-SD). Upon graduating from Georgetown University, Whit served as a Wildlife Specialist for the National Audubon Society before earning his M.S. from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies. Whit also coached collegiate crew for 14 years, the final 10 as men's Varsity Lightweight Crew Coach for Georgetown University.

Vice President for Government Affairs - Steve Moyer
Steve heads up our volunteer operations program and works closely with conservation staff to integrate TU's conservation agenda with our grassroots work. He's also our specialist on Capitol Hill, where he works for clean water and fish-friendly legislation before Congress and other government agencies. Looking for advice on how to deal with your state legislature? Steve assists TU members with their state and local advocacy efforts and develops and implements TU grassroots advocacy campaigns. Prior to joining TU, Steve led advocacy efforts at the National Wildlife Federation on behalf of fisheries and wetlands. He holds a B.S. in Wildlife Management from the University of Maine and an M.S. in Fisheries Science from Virginia Tech.

Vice President for Volunteer Operations and Watershed Programs - Bryan Moore
Bryan began working for Trout Unlimited as the program manager for the Potomac Headwaters Home Rivers Initiative in September, 2005. He became director of Eastern Project Development in May, 2007, and moved to his current position in October, 2007. He was previously self-employed in the insurance restoration industry for eighteen years as a property restoration specialist. Bryan is a fifth-generation native of West Virginia where he grew up fishing the trout streams in the east. After a nineteen year stay in the west, partially dedicated to exploring western trout waters, he returned to his home waters and became an active TU volunteer and leader advocating for stream protection and restoration. In addition to exploring trout streams, he enjoys bowhunting, backpacking, and family camping.  

CFO and Vice President of Administration - Hillary Coley
Hillary came to Trout Unlimited from Lane & Company, CPA’s, where she was responsible for managing audit, consulting, and tax services for non-profit organizations.  Hillary received her BSBA in accounting and international finance from American University and her Masters in Public Administration with a concentration in not-for-profit management at George Mason University.  At Trout Unlimited, Hillary is Chief Financial Officer and responsible for managing the accounting and administration department.  Hillary also serves as Treasurer on the Board of Directors for Casting for Recovery.
