South Fork of the Snake River

Tip of the week
Techniques

Salmonflies are here! Try throwing big foam patterns against the bank. Dry fly fishing on riffles, seams, and eddies has been good with PMD imitations, Yellow Sallies and Caddis. Streamer fishing will produce some surprises! Summer is here.

Seven-day forecast

Salmonflies and Golden Stones will continue their emergence and increase dry fly fishing opportunities with large foam patterns as they work their way upstream. PMD, Yellow Sally, Caddis and Drake hatches will increase as well creating more consistent dry fly fishing on riffles and structure. This is the prime time to be on the South Fork!

The river is holding around 13,000 cfs which is relatively normal but always be cautious because things on the South Fork can come at you fast. Boating accidents can happen to anyone. http://www.localnews8.com/news/crews-look-for-missing-boater/26718596
