Southwest FL- Pine Island Sound - Boca Grande and Charlotte Harbor

Tip of the week

The back country: Go early fish the moving water near the mangroves until the sun gets up. As soon as it gets bright shift you attention to deeper cuts between islands and keys and the depressions in the mangrove creek mouths. The deeper edges of grass flats will hold sea trout, ladyfish and jacks.
Beaches: There's lots of tarpon rolling early due to the warm water. Tons of whitebait around with pinfish and ladyfish too. Starting to see some big snook cruising the troughs but they're spooky.

Seven-day forecast

Light winds should provide fore perfect tarpon conditions on the beaches. The backcountry water is heating up so go early for the best bite.
