Bud Lilly
Bud Lilly died on January 4th at the age of 91.  Bud was a Montana fly fishing icon, a legend in the fly fishing industry, and he was deeply involved in the beginning of Trout Unlimited in Montana.  I met Bud in 1977.

With support from TU VSP Advisory Council member Joe Butler, I had the amazing opportunity to exhibit and talk about the TU VSP program at the 2017 Student Veterans of America National Conference.  I spent 3 days talking with student veterans from across the country.

To celebrate our veterans members of the Blue Ridge Mountain Chapter #696 joined with Project Healing Waters at Noontootla Creek Farms to honor those whose have served our country. Fishing, friends and food and the healing effects of water, wind and sunshine. Doesn't get much better that that.

Tiber Reservoir east of Shelby has tested positive for the larvae of aquatic mussels, a tiny invasive species with a hard shell that can cause big impacts to boats, fish and water infrastructure such as hydroelectric dams.

Glacier National Park Closed to Boating
Glacier National Park announced in a press release on Thursday that in response to the recent detection of invasive mussel populations in central Montana, the park has issued an interim boating closure within all park waters.

The 2016 TU Annual Meeting in Bozeman is in the books!  It was a wonderful event with record attendance at the meeting and record participation in the Annual Meeting Fishing Day!

An Amazing Annual Meeting Fishing Day!
I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who participated in the Annual Meeting Fishing Day yesterday in Bozeman for making it an ABSOLUTELY SPECTACULAR SUCCESS!  We had the LARGEST FISHING DAY EVER with over 80 TU Anglers and 38 volunteer TU Hosts!
