They are also an excellent opportunity to discuss the unique issues facing the region as well as a chance to network and build relationships with fellow TU volunteer leaders.

Saturday night dinner will be at a no-host location TBD soon. A full agenda will be posted online soon.
Sunday, April 30 – Optional day of fishing and no host dinner
After a full weekend of leadership development and networking with fellow TU volunteers, stick around for hosted fishing on Sunday and have the chance at hooking an infamous Arizona Bonefish! Local TU volunteers will host anglers on local suburban lakes or canals, all within about 30-minutes from the Saguaro Hotel, for some of the most exciting freshwater sight-fishing action to be had in the US! If you’ve never tried your hand at carp fishing, it’s an experience not to be missed, as grass carp can be spooky and selective when feeding, but explosive and powerful once hooked.
Recommended equipment includes a 6 weight fly rod and reel, floating line, 3X-4X leader and fluorocarbon tippet. Bring your own carp flies or pick some up at Orvis Phoenix, a quick 7 mile drive from the hotel. We will not be going into the water, so waders are not needed, but be sure to bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and water, as late-April in Arizona can bring temperatures in the mid-70s and lots of sunshine!
If you have a late afternoon or evening flight, we’ll get you back to the Saguaro hotel early enough to make your flight.
