Chris Wood on the Effort to Save Bristol Bay

Last week was a big one for anglers everywhere--the Environmental Protection Agency announced a draft plan that would severely limit mining in the headwaters of Bristol Bay. TU's President and CEO Chris Wood was quick to thank everyone who took the time to share their thoughts about the proposed Pebble Mine in Alaska with the EPA and the effort to protect Bristol Bay in perpetuity.

While Friday's news was indeed wonderful, Wood is correct--we can't let our guard down, and the fight's not over. We have 60 days to comment on the proposal, and then we'll await a final decision from the EPA, which could take months longer. It's time to stay diligent and keep the pressure on. We're so close... we can't quit now.
