Saving the Madison--a last best place

The Madison River Valley, in southwest Montana near the west entrance to Yellowstone National Park, is one of the West's last best places. Legendary fishing guide Craig Mathews narrates this short video about a partnership between TU and the Trust for Public Land to restore flows and protect open space and critical migratory corridors for wildlife in the valley.

This is a great example of how TU is taking on conservation challenges at a landscape-level to ensure we save all the piece of a river ecosystem and protect the unmatched fishing the river offers to thousands every single year.

This is great work, I love how the Sun Ranch balances their use in the valley. They seem to truly want to exist within the natural framework provided to them.

Of course you wait until right after I move from West Yellowstone to post this beautiful video. Thanks for making

I had the honor of meeting Craig Matthews and fishing the Madison this past summer. It is truely one of the beautiful places on this earth. Although I have not seen much of the earth if it could all be like this , this is heaven on earth.
