Video spotlight: Convergence, the full film

TU and a number of conservation and fly-fishing industry entities helped Conservation Hawks with its newest film, Convergence, on the importance of enlisting anglers in the effort to combat climate change, both on the ground and in the halls of government. We highlighted the trailer earlier this year—the film is featured in the Fly Fishing Film Tour this year.

Well, now the entire full-length film is available to view online. It features some great fly fishers, ranging from Travis Swartz (aka, Hank Patterson) Perk Perkins of Orvis and Hilary Hutcheson of Trout TV fame. These anglers share their perspective on how a warming world is changing their fishing, and not for the better.

“It’s like actual proof,” Hutcheson said of the changes happening to her Montana homewaters. “You know, like things you can see.”

Swartz is equally pragmatic.

“For me peronally, I’ve decided to listen to people who have dedicated their lives to understanding science,” he said. “The most important thing, if you know nothing about it, that you can do, is be willing to learn and have a conversation. And not be angry.”

Well said.
