Last Friday MDTU volunteers delivered fertilized Kamloops trout eggs straight from the DNR hatchery in Hagerstown to 14 schools located throughout Baltimore City, Baltimore County, and Harford County. Led by Tom Gamper, the MDTU volunteer delivery team (part of the statewide “Kamloops Express” effort that ensures eggs reach classrooms ASAP, and stay within ideal water temperatures during transit) consisted of Sean Beattie, Jay Boynton, Jim Gracie, Larry Maurer, Tom Rupp, Eric Thompson, and Jim Tingey. Stay tuned for further updates, as the 2014 Trout in the Classroom program progresses!
