The Salmon River, in Pulaski, NY, on the edge of the Tug Hill Region, is famous worldwide for its salmon and steelhead runs. Lake Ontario fish begin to pour into the river in September and stay until late May. The salmon fishing season peak happens when the spawning run occurs. From the second half of September to the middle of October, salmon fill the river and its tributaries. These fish can be very aggressive on a fly. A mixture of egg patterns and woolly buggers are your most productive choices of flies for anglers.

Winter steelhead fishing is best from January through March. More predictable this time of year, the fishing can be productive depending on weather and water temperature. Fish the slower water with big flies or dead drifting pockets with natural patterns. Steelhead enter the river throughout winter to spawn. Peak spawning time for steelhead is late March to early April. After spawning, they drop back into Lake Ontario. Steelhead remain in the river until early May, depending on spring snowmelt. Runoff makes the rivers rise and more bug life appears on the river. Swinging big flies is very effective.

Yet New York is famous for its diverse waterways. Located just west of the Catskill Park, the Upper Delaware River system offers excellent fishing. With a combined total of over 100 years of fishing experience, Zero Limit Adventures provides guiding services in both of these areas, but also on the Western New York tributaries, the Tug Hill Sportsman’s Club, and the Finger Lakes tributaries. Our staff understands the species we fish for, applies the appropriate tactics, and provides our guests with a knowledgeable and informative experience.

Just a short drive from the Salmon River, the 450-acre Tug Hill Sportsman’s Club has plenty to offer any outdoorsman!. Shoot a round of sporting clays or enjoy the grounds for pheasant hunting. The Tug Hill Sportsman’s Club offers a sporting clay course that fits all skill levels. Add some blast to your cast or warm up before your hunt.
