Yes, it IS in our FF backyard!  The “Lack” is a freestone river fishery flowing from a top discharged dam out of Stillwater Lake that holds both stocked/holdover and wild browns as well as stocked rainbows. This medium sized stream is located in the Carbondale/Scranton area and is easily accessed.  Today, wild brown trout thrive in the Lackawanna in which 11 miles of the river are designated as a PA Class A Wild Trout Stream in the section from Carbondale to Olyphant.
Adam Nidoh is co-owner of A&G Outfitters, with his Dad Greg, in the Scranton area.  A&G have been a successful operation for 13 years offering FF retail, instruction and guide services. Adam has been guiding for 8 years with his “go to water” being the Lackawanna, but he also guides on the Susquehanna, Lehigh, Delaware and Lackawaxen rivers.
Adam brings his wealth of knowledge of this wonderful, revived Lackawanna Fishery by reviewing various aspects of the system. This includes some history of the river, its makeup/geography, all the seasons on the river, featuring insect life, hatches along with the flies and FF techniques for them.  He’ll give us a look into what the future holds for this currently successful river system.  Adam will also give a very brief overview of the Lackawaxen River, which is also within reasonable travel distance from the Lehigh Valley. He is active in TU and has been an officer in his local chapter.
