White River Chapter 698 is changing the format of their summer camp. For 2014 it will be known as the Generation Camp. Each child attending must be accompanied by an adult. The adult can be a parent, grandparent, another adult relative or friend. The adult simply needs the desire to be a mentor and have an interest in conservation and trout fishing.

Activities will be planned to include the child and adult for part of the day - and then learning sessions will be held separately for the child and the adult. The two day camp will be free of charge - and fishing equipment will be provided for the weekend.

Our goal is to provide a casual/fun atmosphere introducing the joy of conservation and trout fishing that attendees can continue to pursue long after the camp has ended.

Watch the website for more details as they develop.

I am hopeful that the new format encourages more involvement by the adults. The Dry Run Creek resource is a tremendous learning tool for the kids and they deserve to use it before their 16th birthday.

I am also hopeful that some of the adults will become active Chapter members. There are more than enough opportunities for them to get involved with our projects, activities and  the functioning of the Chapter.
