The Fly Fishing Film Tour goes virtual on Aug. 27

The annual Fly Fishing Film Tour was forced to hit “pause” earlier this spring thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, but, as they say, “The show must go on.”

After months of deliberations, the film tour’s organizers are moving forward with the 2020 F3T, albeit in a virtual fashion. Consumers can purchase tickets to the Fly Fishing Film Tour, which begins on Aug. 27, and take their time watching this year’s film offerings. Those who buy tickets ($18 each) will have a full week to view the streaming films comprising this year’s tour.

Films this year are split between international and domestic movies, as well as between fresh and saltwater.

Those purchasing tickets can choose to attend the national film screening event, or a regional screening event (all are available for streaming starting Thursday, Aug. 27). Additionally, there are three screenings that support TU chapters around the country. They are:

Idaho: Supporting the Snake River Cutthroats Chapter.

Pennsylvania: Supporting the TU Chapters in Southeastern Pennsylvania.

California: Supporting the Golden Gate Chapter.

According to F3T organizers, the event will feel like any normal tour showing. Starting with walk-in music and images from the films. “The audience will have the opportunity to watch an event that will feel like a live show,” an F3T press release reads.

The national events will have sponsor raffles with prizing from F3T partners: Simms Fishing Products, Yeti Coolers, Costa Sunglasses, Ross Reels, Scientific Anglers, Thomas and Thomas Fly Rods, Oskar Blues Brewing Company and Yellow Dog Fly Fishing Adventures. In all, there will be about $50,000 in raffle prizes given away during national screenings. Independently promoted affiliate shows will also host raffles and sell tickets to benefit their local causes and non-profit groups, like TU chapters and councils.
