Join Trout Unlimited for our live Streamside Chat events to get the inside scoop on priority conservation initiatives. Streamside Chats are interactive video discussions about the conservation impact you enable with your support.  Join one or more for the chance to ask live questions directly of our leadership. We will use Zoom for the following events:

Sep 29, 2021 — The Driftless Area (Midwest)

By natural history standards, the Driftless Area is a national treasure. The region’s topography, deep caves and springs, and vast number of coldwater streams distinguish the Driftless from the more uniform landscapes of Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. In recent years, conservation measures have led to a tenfold increase in fish populations. Jeff Hastings is the Manager of Trout Unlimited’s Driftless Area Restoration Effort. Jeff will present attendees with a brief historic overview of how the Driftless Area’s once thriving brook trout streams became degraded, and how they are now being restored to support self-sustaining populations of wild brown and brook trout.

Dec 8, 2021 — Eel River, CA

The Eel River was one of California’s largest salmon and steelhead runs, and is a focal area for recovery efforts. Learn how the North Coast Coho Project is working with agencies and private landowners to identify, prioritize, implement, and monitor watershed-scale restoration that not only benefits salmon and steelhead, but also addresses legacy land use practices that increase the risk of hazardous wildland fires.
