Membership isn’t the only way you can support TU’s mission — we have many ways for you to make a tax-deductible donation.

There are many ways to financially support Trout Unlimited’s mission—from our annual giving community, to legacy giving, to stock gifts and more.

• Donor advised funds

  Designating a gift from your Donor-Advised Fund is an easy way to support Trout Unlimited’s work. To designate TU, please provide your organization with the following information:

• Stock Gifts

  Donating appreciated securities to Trout Unlimited is way to provide a lasting impact on America’s coldwater fisheries and their watersheds and to potentially provide a benefit for yourself. Your gift of appreciated stock or mutual funds that have gained in value and have been owned for one year, offers you, a charitable deduction which can be a way to avoid capital gains taxes. To donate your securities to TU, please contact our Development Team.

• IRA Gifts

  If you meet the age requirement per Federal Tax Laws (70 ½ as of 2019), you may be able to make a tax-free charitable gift to Trout Unlimited from your IRA. A “Qualified Charitable Distributions” (QCD) allows individuals to donate up to $100,000 each year, subject to deductible contributions made to your IRA. It is an effective way to support Trout Unlimited while achieving your philanthropic goals. Please consult your tax advisor or financial planner for more details.

• Gifts of assets

  Gifts of assets other than cash can be a substantial and tax – wise way to support Trout Unlimited.Whether you donate land, stock, artwork, life insurance, or retirement assets, your gift always helps support the critical work of Trout Unlimited.Contact a TU gift planning professional to learn about the many different options.

  Donate a vehicle

  Trout Unlimited now accepts vehicle donations.The process is easy and you may receive a tax deduction.Please visit our online form at tu.careasy.org or call toll free 1.844 .40.TROUT.Your donation will help us to conserve, protect and restore North America’ s coldwater fisheries and their watersheds.

  Donate other assets

  You can give TU tangible, personal property(like an art object, prized collection, or antique) and take a deduction for its full fair market value if the gift is used for our exempt function. Using assets other than cash allows you more flexibility when planning your gift, and there are even more potential benefits if you plan your gift creatively. To donate other assets, please contact our Development Team and we’ ll get back to you shortly.

• Planned giving

  Making Trout Unlimited part of your future plans is arguably the most significant way that one can make a lasting impact for trout, salmon, and coldwater conservation. • Coldwater Conservation Fund

  Coldwater Conservation Fund donors commit to five years of leadership investment and partnership in our work. The group meets annually to allocate their pooled funds to specific projects. Learn more about the Coldwater Conservation Fund.

• Corporate Matching Gifts

  Trout Unlimited encourages its members to use their employer’s matching gifts programs as an easy way to increase the donation to the organization. Simply contact your employer (or former employer, if you’re retired), request a matching gift form and send it to the address below. Forms need not accompany your gift to be eligible; you may send at any time or even request that gifts you’ve already given be matched. By using your matching gifts programs, you will double or maybe even triple your contribution to conserving, protecting and restoring North America’s trout and salmon.

• Workplace giving

  Many companies will match volunteer hours and charitable donations to make your donation and efforts to support Trout Unlimited. By participating in your workplace giving program, you are ensuring your donation goes twice as far. Simply reach out to your employer to find out if this wonderful option is available to you.

• Memorial, Honorary and Celebratory Gifts

  Celebrate birthdays, graduations, weddings or other special occasions using our online gift membership form .

• Combined Federal Campaign

  Since 1991 TU has participated in the Combined Federal Campaign, the main source of charitable giving among federal employees and military personnel. To date, TU has received hundreds of thousands of dollars from the Combined Federal Campaign. These donations provide critical funding to TU’s initiatives on behalf of trout and salmon. We hope you’ll remember to designate Trout Unlimited (agency #11255) when making your annual Combined Federal Campaign contribution. Your gift will help TU do even more for coldwater conservation and education. Support TU by designating agency #11255.

• Donate your vehicle

  Consider making a tax deductible vehicle donation to Trout Unlimited.  We are able to accept most cars, trucks, trailers, boats, RV’s, motorcycles, off road vehicles, or heavy equipment running or not, as long as they are in towable condition.
