For Trout Unlimited, protecting rivers and streams is essential to sustaining healthy trout and salmon populations. Data centers can place significant pressure on rivers and streams, because powering and cooling them often involves significant amounts of water, and their development can fragment habitat and degrade water quality.

That’s why TU has developed science-based policy guidance — for our volunteers, chapters, and anyone else working to ensure that the rapid build-out of data centers does not come at the expense of America’s rivers and streams.
