About Us

We grew up guiding in Big Sky Country, casting flies on the Missouri River and rowing clients into trophy trout. But as much as we loved being on the water, all the overbuilt, uncomfortable guiding gear held us back. That’s when the idea of Free Fly was born. After years of searching for better performance fabrics, we came across bamboo—a regenerative material loaded with natural performance benefits. We took that discovery with us to Charleston, where we laid down roots and have been crafting wildly comfortable apparel ever since.We’re lucky to call the Lowcountry home—flood tides, barrier islands, and all. The coastal wilderness is our playground, where we catch a few waves before work and clock out early to pole through the flats. We live for days well spent, with stories to tell, salt on our skin, cold drinks in hand, surrounded by our favorite people. Our gear is built for those moments. For wild comfort when it matters most.

What we do

Since 2011, we’ve been crafting famously comfortable outdoor apparel—innovating with bamboo and other natural materials to build seriously soft sunwear. As a team of anglers, surfers, and adventure seekers, being on the water is what drives us. So we design all our gear to outfit those pursuits.
