About Us

Founded in 1922, Helfrich River Outfitters has been guiding guests down the rivers of Idaho and Oregon for over 100 years. As a fourth-generation family-owned outfitter, we specialize in drift boat fly fishing and whitewater rafting adventures that combine rich river tradition with exceptional service and hospitality. From the Middle Fork of the Salmon and Rogue River to the McKenzie, Main Salmon, and Owyhee Canyonlands, we offer one- to six-day river trips featuring deluxe camping, riverside lodges, gourmet meals, and experienced guides who know these rivers inside and out.

What we do

We offer guided drift boat fly fishing and whitewater rafting trips throughout Idaho and Oregon. Our trips range from single-day adventures to multi-day wilderness expeditions with luxury camping or lodge-based accommodations. Guests can fish, raft, or combine both experiences while exploring some of the most scenic wild rivers in the West.
