Frenchie Fly Fishing

About Us

Frenchie Fly Fishing was created from my love of fly fishing and the places it has allowed me to experience throughout Arizona. I’m Douglas French, the owner and guide, and I started this business because I wanted to share more than just a day of fishing.
Some of the best memories in fly fishing come from the quiet moments: standing beside a mountain stream, watching someone catch their first trout, or helping an angler finally understand a technique they have been struggling with. Those are the experiences I want every guest to take home with them.
My goal is to provide a personal and welcoming experience where anglers never feel rushed, intimidated, or like they are simply another name on the schedule.

What we do

We provide guided fly-fishing experiences for anglers of all skill levels, from someone holding a fly rod for the first time to experienced anglers looking to explore new water.
Every trip is adjusted around the individual angler, including their experience, interests, comfort level, and physical ability. I provide the necessary fishing equipment, patient instruction, and local knowledge so guests can focus on enjoying the experience.
Catching fish is always part of the goal, but a successful trip is about more than numbers. It is about learning, building confidence, spending time in beautiful country, and developing a stronger connection with the water and the fish that live there.

Where we do it

We guide throughout some of the most beautiful and diverse trout country in Arizona, including Oak Creek and Oak Creek Canyon, the Mogollon Rim, and the White Mountains.
These areas offer everything from red-rock canyon water and private-access fishing to small forest streams, remote mountain creeks, and high-country lakes. Each location has its own character, challenges, and story.
I take pride in helping guests experience these waters responsibly and respectfully. Arizona’s trout fisheries are special, and I believe every guided trip should leave anglers with a greater appreciation for the fish, the habitat, and the importance of protecting these places for the future.
