Volunteers Around the Country Join Together on Trout Unlimiteds National Stream Clean-up Day
June 13 national event marks TUs 50th anniversary

Arlington, Va.On Saturday,
June 13, volunteers around the country will join together to clean up
streams and rivers on Trout Unlimiteds (TU) National Stream Clean-up
Day.

From New Yorks Catskill
mountains to the Pacific Northwest, TU chapters and volunteers will
work together on the ground to make rivers and streams cleaner and
healthier for the fish and wildlife that live in them.

As TU volunteers join together
to clean up America’s rivers and streams today, this national effort is
a testament to the people who carry out Trout Unlimited’s dedication to
coldwater conservation said Charles Gauvin, TUs President and CEO.
For the last 50 years, TU volunteers have been working tirelessly on
their home waters to protect and restore places where trout and salmon
live.

Prizes will be awarded to the
TU chapters who bring the most volunteers to the clean-up event, for
the most trash collected from a stream and for the strangest item found
in a clean-up. For a list of clean-up locations around the country, go
to www.tu.org.

Founded in Michigan in 1959, TU
is America’s largest coldwater conservation organization and celebrates
its 50th anniversary this year. TUs efforts over the last 50 years
have improved over 10,000 miles of Americas rivers and streams.

TU has over 140,000 members and more than 400 chapters around the country. Its national headquarters are in Arlington, Va.

Trout Unlimited is the
nations largest coldwater conservation organization, with 140,000
members dedicated to conserving, protecting, and restoring North
Americas trout and salmon fisheries and their watersheds.
