Strike indicators are helpful, and Tom Rosenbauer from Orvis walks us through how to use them most effectively. But don’t forget they are not mandatory as you can often watch the line for a strike as well.
Give both methods a try depending on the water you’re fishing, the spookiness of the fish you’re targeting or any other number of variables.
